The Suzhou launch event for Jiangshan Guzhai, the latest novel by Fan Xiaoqing, a Suzhou-native writer who serves as the honorary chairwoman of the Writers Association of Jiangsu Province, was held at SIP Library on Dec 14.
Published by Beijing October Arts & Literature Publishing House in October, the book follows the search for an ancient mansion to portray the spiritual pursuits of multiple generations and their sense of responsibility towards historical memory.
At the book launch, the writer presented copies of the book to SIP. This literary gift, carrying the memories of Suzhou, will be integrated into SIP’s public cultural spaces, allowing more readers to appreciate the profound connection between literature and the city.
Fan also shared stories about the creation of the book with the participating readers and guests.
